PAST ACTIVITIES

HIKING AT INDIANA SAND DUNES NATIONAL PARK

CMGT had a successful hike at Indiana Dunes on May 19 facilitated and supported by SUM.FUN crews. Thank you to all who participated in our event. We started by having breakfast and a short hike to learn about birds and wild flowers. After lunch, participants can choose multiple activities to enjoy. At the long hike activity, we did a serious workout hiking on sandy trail, enjoyed fresh air in the woods, and finished our hike at a beautiful beach where we can see the Chicago skyline.

2024 InterFAITh TREE AMBASSADOR TRAINING

Welcome our new Tree Ambassadors! Thank you for joining us at the 2024 Interfaith Tree Ambassador Training on May 11 to work together in creating resilient and sustainable communities across the city by equitably expanding Chicago’s Tree Canopy. Thank you, Mayfield Community garden, Third Unitarian Church for hosting our training. We started with touring the garden, had a delicious lunch, had a discussion about OUR ROOTS CHICAGO program, trees from our spiritual and religious views, how to engage with residents, how to request trees using the CHI311 App. We then walked around the neighborhood to talk and listen to residents and went home with free plants from the Garden. Stay tuned for more trainings in the next couple months!
